Steel Cut Flowers, much different than steel cut oats.

"Blackfield" Zadok Ben DavidZadok Ben David created 12,000 steel flowers, all based on early botanical illustrations.  The way the installation is presented, the mini sculpture flowers are resting in either a block or circle of white sand, and the field appears to be lifeless, hence the title of the project, Blackfield.  Although when the field is viewed from the other side, it comes alive, not literally, just in color.

Blackfield has been on display in multiple art venues, and was most recently in Seoul at Artclub 1563.  I’m unsure where the traveling field of flowers is off to next, but know I’ll be hunting it down.
